Port of Dun Laoghaire

Harbour Information, Terminals and Facilities
(Dun Laoghaire, County Dublin, Ireland)

Located to the south of Dublin on Dublin Bay, Dun Laoghaire is a large and popular port town, nestled in the foothills of the Dublin Mountains. The Port of Dun Laoghaire is a busy, year-round facility that serves hundreds of thousands of yearly passengers aboard Stena Line high-speed ferries.

Facilities at the port are not as extensive as those at Dublin Ports' terminals, yet facilities are nevertheless fairly comprehensive. There are bureau de change and information booths, internet access, a newsagent, souvenir and gift shops, a left-luggage facility and short-term and long-term parking. Disabled passengers are also well taken care of and the terminal is wheelchair-friendly.

Ferry Services

There is just one ferry service at Dun Laoghaire, which is the Dun Laoghaire-Holyhead year-round service. The well-equipped, high-speed Stena Line HSS Explorer operates on this route and completes the journey in a staggering 1 hour, 40 minutes. Facilities and services on this modern catamaran are extensive, with an exhaustive supply of shops and eateries, and fun areas for children.

The Stena Line HSS Forwarder also used to run this route, but has since been discontinued in favour of the faster HSS Explorer.
